Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe him,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard."

life as a {designer}
Did you know?...
If a designer creates a website and sells the design and the complete (editing) rights of that design the average price of that would be anywhere from $3000-$6000.
When designing a website a designer usually gets paid $40-$60 an hour, print design is around $20-$30 an hour.
A typical calculation for a freelancer with 3-4 years of experience,
working from home is $50,000 {expected annual salary, single employee}.
{...Oh...that's why I'm in college. Right.}
I've practically been throwing money out the window. Crazy. The thought crossed my mind today, maybe it's time I actually start charging people for the work I do. Hm. That's a novel idea.

alabaster box
I'm breaking my alabaster box. You can have me, all of me.
.
.
Let the fragrance arise.
"When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them."
{Luke 7:37-38}

delight in me.
Your presence is all I am longing for, here in the secret place
Your nearness is all I am waiting for, here in the quiet place
Here in the secret place
My soul waits for You alone
Like the watchmen wait for dawn
Here I’ve finally found a place
Where we’ll meet, Lord, face to face
I’ve finally found where I belong
I’ve finally found where I belong, in Your presence
I’ve finally found where I belong, it’s to be with You, to be with You
I am my Beloved’s and He is mine
So come into Your garden and take delight in me, take delight in me
Delight in me, delight in me
Delight in me, delight in me

Vérité
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” {Philippians 4:8}

April
An April Morning
{Bliss Carman}
Once more in misted April
The world is growing green.
Along the winding river
The plumey willows lean.
Beyond the sweeping meadows
The looming mountains rise,
Like battlements of dreamland
Against the brooding skies.
In every wooded valley
The buds are breaking through,
As though the hearth of all things
No languor ever knew.
The golden wings and bluebirds
Call to their heavenly choirs.
The pines are blued and drifted
With smoke of brushwood fires.
And in my sister's garden
Where breezes run,
The golden daffodillies
Are blowing in the sun.
